What is accounting software?
Odoo is designed with very tight algorithms and constraints that link many feature modules with accounting modules. Accurately recording and reflecting entries in accordance with Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS) is imperative.
By default, Odoo lacks many print report templates and some standard features, such as Automatic Profit/Loss Consolidation, exchange rate difference. SOME NOTE
- Not all Vietnam Tax required reports are available in Odoo. In fact, most reports require additional writing or you can purchase TopERP's "VAS Accounting Addon" to get these reports.
- Not all forms are subject to the requirements of the Department of Finance. Only the required, regular report forms we will make closest to the required one.
According to Circular 200/2014/TT-BTC in Article 8, Clause 3, accounting documents and books are as follows:
“b) All forms of accounting books (including Ledgers and Journals) are optional. Enterprises can apply the book form according to the instructions in Appendix 4 of this Circular or supplement or modify the form of accounting book and card in accordance with the operation characteristics and management requirements, but must ensure the Present information fully, clearly, easy to check and control.”

A. How to view the ledgers on Odoo
1. General Log Book
You go to the Accounting menu, select Reports, select General Journal (S03a-DN), by default the system will extract all the diaries in the system. The file will be printed as PDF or Excel for ease of adjustment.
2. Cash collection diary
On odoo, it will be separate to separate revenue and expenditure books, so that accountants can filter separate income/expenditure for the day, month, and period from here the accountant will preliminarily evaluate the business results.
Method 1: Accounting > Ledger > Ledger > select cash account > Filter (type cash accounts like 111-112, depending on the company's cash book account)
Method 2: Accounting > incurred accounting > filter cash accounts like 111-112 (depending on the company's cash book account) > add a custom filter to the filter "zero debt =0"
For this part, in the search section, you can search by "or" / "and" command to find multiple accounts at once, after this step the following table will appear.
